                                                Pongalu Sevai:

                           This is celebrated on the 8th day after Dwajarohana.

        The womenfolk play a large role on this day. They have a sacred bath and wear new clothes. They then take rice and jaggery to the temple and make Pongal in the Temple courtyard. The whole day and night is spent in the temple. The night is spent listening to stories from the epics. After the Maha Mangala Aarathi is performed they disperse for their homes. The menfolk spend their tie listening to stories from Mahabharatha and history of Goddess Draupadi which is narrated by Gantepoojaris.
