                           HAZRAT TAWAKKAL MASTAN SHAH DARGA

There are a number of darga's or shrines in Bangalore, the best-known being that of the Sufi Saint, Hazrat Tawakkal Mastan Shah Suharawandi, where the Hindu KARAGA procession stops every year. Legend has it that the saint was a manson from Arabia who was involved in the building of Haidar's fort. When he rushed to catch a glimpse of the colourful KARAGA procession, he is said to have fallen and been trampled by the surgin crowd. He fainted and was revived by the priests in the procession. The KUN KUM powder applied on his bruises is stated to have healed him, whereupon the saint expressed a wish that the procession should stop at his shrine after his death.
